The Book of Durrow

Its date of origin is controversial but is believed to be the late 7th century. Its origins have also been the subject of debate, with scholars arguing between Durrow and Northumbria as likely places of origin, with current scholarship leaning toward Durrow.

 The Cathach of St Columba     c. AD 560-630

Written in Latin. The Cathach is the oldest extant Irish manuscript of the Psalter and the earliest example of Irish writing.

    No I haven’t yet. Its my next project. I thought it would be about aran-weight, but having not seen the actual yarn they suggest, I wasn’t sure. But now you’ve confirmed my suspicions, I shall go off and hunt down a beautiful yarn to knit it in. Thanks :o)
